Context

Memo-matched reconciliation proves that every Corridor-referenced movement was booked. It does not prove completeness: fees, faucet mints and top-ups move vault balances without a reference, and a ledger that ignores them drifts from the chain while still balancing.

Decision

Book every vault movement from the chain evidence that proves it. Tempo fees are TIP-20 transfers to the Fee Manager and are booked to expense:gas keyed by that log; deposits from approved funding sources are booked to equity:owner; Zcash deliveries are booked under the output an auditor’s viewing key will see. Unidentified deposits are never credited automatically. A vault check compares on-chain balances with the ledger after replaying each vault’s history from its first funded block.

Consequences

  • On Moderato the treasury’s on-chain balance equals the ledger to the last unit, gas included.
  • Booking is idempotent: each movement is keyed by its log or output.
  • A deposit without a memo stays unreferenced until someone classifies it, because it may be customer money.
  • Solana and Base gas are not yet booked this way; they are on the roadmap.

Alternatives rejected

  • Estimate gas from receipts at send time: misses retries, compensations and any transaction the code did not anticipate.
  • Periodic balance adjustments: hide the cause of drift instead of booking it.
